UPDATE FEBRUARY 2016 by Nick Logan<\/p><p>Dear Friends of Artarmon, It has been an intense few months for Artarmon Village Inc (AVI) with the announcement of plans to bury a Sydney Metro power supply under Hampden Rd in 2016. AVI met with Sydney Metro in December to discuss two alternative options; a) cabling Hampden Rd at night, or b) cabling Hampden Lane. Both options have small merits, far outweighed by the difficulties and disruption they would pose.<\/p><p>Artarmon Village Inc\u2019s position is still that Sydney Metro could, and should, find a cheaper, easier, faster and less disruptive option, that does not include digging a trench along our main road.<\/p><p>At the moment Transport for NSW is in the process of writing a submissions report that is due to be finished in early March. Once the report has been completed they expect to meet again with council and other stakeholders.
