June 2016

It has been confirmed that the cabling of a 33kV power supply in Hampden Road will be going ahead.

The Sydney Metro Northwest March 2016 newsletter goes a long way to explaining their strategy and showing that they have taken our community’s concerns seriously (Newsletters are available at Nick Logan Pharmacist Advice). We have urged Sydney Metro to work on Hampden Rd and Brand St at night to help minimise daytime traffic disruption; to begin work in January 2017 to avoid traffic generated by the school term; and to concentrate resources during the work in the Artarmon shopping strip so that the work can be completed within four to six weeks.

In April, Sydney Metro Northwest confirmed that: a) Contractors Northwest Rapid Transport are planning some design investigations between mid-May and mid-June. This will include some potholing along the alignment and workers out looking into existing service pits, surveying, placing markings on the ground. This information feeds into their detailed design. b) They are planning to do a noise impact assessment in the Hampden Rd area mid-year (June/July).

Aside from managing the impact of cabling in Hampden Road, a survey of our members prioritised these other projects for 2016 in the village:

  1. Maximising and simplifying parking.
  2. Establishing a public toilet.
  3. Streetscaping with a unified theme.
