Welcome to Artarmon Village!

There was a Chamber of Commerce in Artarmon for decades run by competing Pharmacists Jim Watson and Greg Hodgson.

However, time and changes led to the original Committee being disbanded in the late 90’s. A St Leonard’s/Artarmon Chamber of Commerce, including the Industrial Area, met regularly at the Freeway Hotel and had some successful large meetings which provided a wonderful networking opportunity and support organisation.

The large geographic area of the suburbs over multiple Councils, made it difficult to effectively develop the Chamber further.

Since 2013

Encouraged by former Mayor Pat Reilly, Michelle Sloane instigated a small Steering Committee to reinstate a Chamber of Commerce specifically for the shopping Village near the Station in Artarmon.

Members were Jim Watson, Nick Logan, John Peacock, Michelle Sloane and Barry Thompson. The Artarmon Village Inc (AVI) was officially registered in 2015 but was up and running from October 2013 with 34 member businesses.

The AVI aims to represent local businesses dealing with Willoughby City Council to provide consistent and united messaging and promoting the area as a place to stop and shop.

Local resident Sonia Powell was approached to design the AVI logo which you see on this website. Nick Logan was the inaugural President, a position he holds to this day. Special Projects worked on in the have included
