September 2019

A big #Heartarmon welcome to these new AVI members; • Zucchero Caffe Bar is open for business at 104 Hampden Rd. Generations of Italian cooking have merged to deliver a warm, personal atmosphere where you can enjoy a glass of wine, an antipasto, a ricotta cannolo or an authentic espresso. This has been a project of love for Valerio. Give him a high five. And do not forget that Agatha and the Black and White Beauty team are still down the back through the magic door. •

Arco Music Academy is a specialist music academy for talented young musicians. The academy provides an environment and tuition for musically gifted children to pursue their love of music, develop their musical potential, and achieve standards of performance on instruments at the highest level. They are located behind the pharmacy in Broughton Road.

Unfortunately, a few gaps in the Artarmon smile have appeared since the demise of Flight Centre and Burgers and More. The general consensus is that we could really use a butcher or a deli if anyone is looking for an opening.

Our members have decided, again, that our focal project for this year should be to secure public toilets for the shopping village. An accessible and parent friendly public toilet next to the railway lift in Hampden Road is the best option but facilities on both sides of the station would be ideal. The station toilets are not accessible and are often closed. Business people and residents alike are sick of talking about this and nothing ever being done. We are still recruiting AVI members for the 2019-20 financial year. Please look for the AVI decal and support our members who are going to bat for your community.
